Detroit?

Yes, Detroit was the destination for Labor Day. Upon hearing this plan many asked, "Why?" To see friends of course! A little rendezvous with the Montierth's. Who knew there would be so much to do all within 10 min (maybe 2 miles) of their home! Technically they're in Dearborn, across the street from Ford (work) and across the street from church. Can you say ideal location? Then on the other side of Ford are a bunch of attractions, including Greenfield Village. Haven't heard of it yet? What a place! Full of cool historic buildings that were transported there. Then there's all the antique cars that drive by you on the streets. People roaming to entertain and answer any questions as well as fill you in on all the significance of things. The Lewis' feel they hardly made a dent in all that was there. Other attractions included the Ford Museum and a tour of the F-150 plant (currently not in operation). The weekend made for a whirlwind visit and they didn't even get a jaunt in to Detroit itself. But the skyline was visible from the plant tour. However Laura did give them a little performance on the violin and Abie's first lesson! She was so excited to play!
