A local city near the Lewis' held "Fire Days." Not really knowing what to expect at this little town the Lewis family ventured off to find out. Being a little town it wasn't very crowded which allowed for them to do everything available in a short time.
"Sparky" (talking dog in a fire truck, remote control) was there to greet the children
Watching fire fighters demonstrate rescuing a "dummy" (real person) from the top of a building. Seeing just how long it takes to raise the ladder it's hoped to never be the one needing to be rescued.
Cool vehicle with lots of technology inside for all the communications in case of an emergency - there are about 11 in IL, most of the time it sits parked
Abie didn't care for the hat - she let dad wear it while she stuck with her glasses
sliding down the fire pole
Abie driving the fire truck
Benjamin was in attendance also, quite content in the stroller playing with Abie's hat
